1. What did you do in 2005 that you'd never done before? lived in an apartment, choreographed a danced in the show for terps, became a dj on the radio, anchored the news show, quit smoking, let go of someone for all the right reasons
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? no, i didn't quit smoking. i spent a few days wondering what this years would be and instead of all that soul searching mumbo jumbo i decided that my new years resolution is to stop dying my hair. and that's gonna be TOUGH.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth? tara.
4. Did anyone close to you die? no.
5. What countries did you visit? none. i also cancelled my london abroad trip, for the best.
6. What would you like to have in 2006 that you lacked in 2005? companionship.
7. What date from 2005 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? probably last new years because it was an unexpected twist of events, my 20th bday because it went from lovely and fun with friends to a tearful ending, and this past christmas because i saw my cousin david who i haven't seen in years and it was so awesome.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? i have a lot, but in general, that i pushed myself to get more involved in school and it made me a busier but much happier person and i met so many great people because of it.
9. What was your biggest failure? probably holding back my feelings as usual, but that's more of a thing that progressivly lingers throughout the years.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury? nothing very serious, the occasional college cold that lingers for a few months, but hey, whatev.
11. What was the best thing you bought? my black gap vest, the mary-kate and ashley 2005 calendar, and alcohol.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration? the people whom i've managed to stay in touch with a grow with.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? just people who assume i'm something that i'm not. and take it upon themselves to think that i will act in aa certain way when i'm actually a very easy-going and friendly person. that's all i'll say.
14. Where did most of your money go? alcohol. cigarettes. toilet paper. hahaha. oh and def clothes.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? living in our apartment, summer roadtrip with the girls, camp parties, life.
16. What song will always remind you of 2005? "hollerback girl", "golddigga", "poison", "canned heat", "business of love", all those mariah carey and kelly clarkson songs, "bring em out"
17. Compared to this time last year, are you: i. happier or sadder? i'm always pretty happy. i'm definitley more in control this year.
ii. thinner or fatter? thinner.
iii. richer or poorer? in a few hours, poorer, lol.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of? kept in touch with more people from home, vacationing, going to the gym, and studying.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of? worrying about what other people think. procrastinating. overreacting.
20. How will you be spending Christmas? woke up at the as crack of dawn to open gifts. napped. went to aunt nancy's which was probably the best christmas to date.
22. Did you fall in love in 2005? no
23. How many one-night stands? none. i went a bit wild, but i don't regret it.
24. What was your favorite TV program? lost, project runway, greys anatomy.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? no. no new enemies. hahah.
26. What was the best book you read? vogue, allure, jane.....oh wait those aren't books. nevermind...
27. What was your greatest musical discovery? john legend. death cab. leona naess.
28. What did you want and get? i always get what i want.
28. What did you want and not get? to quit smoking, an ipod, a video camera, a valentine.
30. What was your favorite film of this year? garden state.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? i went to all my classes, then lisa, kimmy and megan took me to applebees, then the girls surprised me with a cheesecake and decorations down the hall, then my suitemates had wine and cheese for me and julie and cake too, i drank a glass of wine and watch some satc, nick picked me up and we saw sideways, then i slept at his place. happy 20th.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? to had not been CONSTANTLY dicked over by guys, which has so greatly fucked with my head that i have really enormous trust issues and constant control issues. but i'm still fun. lol.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2005? i think i've grown. although i most live in oneonta sweatshirts the entire year. i still haven't managed to throw out my fugg boots that i'm in love with but i've made some nice purchases. i'm currently in love with my $55 pair of seven jeans that i would give my live for. i think i learn that sometimes it's okay to splurge on yourself, ecspecially when you get a good sale. plus i pretty much own everything from the gap. but that's to be expected.
34. What kept you sane? coffee, cigarettes, sex and the city, phone calls to adam, my mother, and probably late night chat room conversation with my three roomates while we're all in the apartment, because those nights make me laugh enough for an entire year.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? lindsay lohan, mk & a, rachael mcadams, natalie portman, sienna miller, jenny lewis, jonathan ryhs-meyers, kristen dunst, jake gylenhall, etc etc.
36. What political issue stirred you the most? i'm not a big politic person, so i don't have many views. i should change that.
37. Who did you miss? willie.
38. Who was the best new person you met? oh i have so many, honestly, i can't make a list. to generalize; new terps girls, wony people, and a few lucky guys.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2005: my own life lesson is that you have to figure yourself our before you can attach yourself to another. i also learned that soemtimes it's better to break away from someone before your get to attached if you know that it isn't going anywhere. i guess the moral is to keep yourself happy, even if getting to your happy state takes a few bumps on the way, you need to look to the future and think, what will make me happy in the end. however, an exception, is sometime you have to let you're fall. and that's scary. so pretty much don't be afraid of the future, and have FUN. that's it, HAVE FUCKING FUN.
